CalSWIM Data Query Application

Data Query Tutorial

Currently, to access the data query, you can go directly to the "Download" section and press the subsequent "Query Data" link, or you can click on a selected monitoring site in the GIS explorer, both of which take you to the Data Query page.

This page automatically opens in a new browser window for the watershed. If no data is found for the station you selected or other chart headings you set, it will indicate such by reading "No data found for Query."

You can change the station code, parameter code, or any other chart setting by selecting from the list available in each draw down window. Once you chose your settings, clicking "Send Query" will activate the search. If a setting with an asterisk (*) is selected, it indicates all options in the full drop down list, for that specific setting, will be searched.

A successful Query will bring up a table with the relevant data you requested. This data can be downloaded in either CSV or Tab Delimited format for use in a database or spreadsheet.

CalSWIM Data Components

Bibliography of Reports

An access database was developed in 1998 to identify studies that have been performed within the Newport Bay Watershed. The database was updated in 2005 to include recent studies for the watershed. Database entries include the report title, author, and year of publication, where the report can be obtained, abstract of the report, and key words associated with the report. The database can be queried to limit downloading, or the full database can be downloaded. All reports are sorted/queried by study area location.

Monitoring Sites

Sites throughout the Newport Bay watershed are monitored by the county to track water quality with the goals of protecting the residents, and environment, of Orange County. The data from individual sites can be downloaded here in full, or you can query the data from all the sites and download your selection.

San Diego Creek Photos

Photographs cataloging the San Diego Creek channel bed and bank features, as well as bridge crossings and flow control structures, were taken from the mouth of the creek at Jamboree Road, up to the Interstate-405 crossing near Irvine Spectrum. The photos are numbered in sequential order beginning at Jamboree. All photographs along San Diego Creek were taken in August 2005.
